Hunter created a 3-position mounting system. In this system, the user will have easy and supple installation. These 3-positions are Low Profile, Standard or Angled mounting. You can select any of these depending on your preferences and ceiling height. The procedure to install these comes along with all new Hunter fans. In the situation where you misplaced or lost the manual, you can follow these installation steps.
Things to Do Before Installing your Hunter Fan
Locate a suitable anchorage on the ceiling to support the fan like the ceiling joist; drill holes for installation of wood screws; and identify and connect electrical wires.
Tools Needed to Install a Hunter Ceiling Fan
The following are tools needed for ceiling fan installation:
An Electric drill with 9/64” bit, standard screwdriver, and Phillips-head screwdriver. All screwdrivers are recommended to have a magnetic tip to hold the screw. You will also need a wrench or pliers and a ladder.

When you have done all of the checklist above, you can now start installing your new ceiling fan.
To start with, switch off the power supply of the room. Use your ladder to climb up the ceiling to disconnect the electrical wire. In doing so, unscrew the ceiling box. Be very careful in disconnecting the wires and take note of the placement. Open the box of the fan and get the mounting bracket. It is a metal flange used to connect the electrical box. It comes with screws and hook.
Using the screws provided, connect the mounting bracket to the electrical box. You will find hole in the bracket and through there, pull the wires from the electrical box. After preparing the ceiling part, assemble the ceiling fan.
In assembling the fan, refer to the manual found on the packaging. Read carefully the manual and make sure you assemble the fan as indicated. You have the option to assemble the blades or you can do it later. Climb up the ladder again to hang the ceiling fan from the hook of the bracket. Insert the hook in the small hole near the edge of the fan’s canopy.
After that, connect all the wires of the ceiling fan to the electrical box. Be sure to insulate the wire connections using electrical tape. The bare copper wire on the electrical box should be connected to the green grounding screw on the fan. Double check this connection. Tighten all the screws.
Raise the canopy of the fan up to the brackets. Tuck all exposed wires into the canopy and tighten the screws to fix the canopy. Be sure to check all the screws if properly tightened to ensure support to the ceiling fan. The installation is now done. You can turn on the power supply.
Cautions and Warnings
Read the entire manual carefully and with understanding before you start with the installation process for safety purposes. Only use Hunter replacement parts so that it will be compatible to the product. Be sure to anchor the ceiling fan to the support structure of the building like ceiling joist to avoid injuries and accidents. Do not replace the supplied hardware else you are risking the safety of the ceiling fan operation. Before going into the electrical wires and connections, double check whether the power supply is off to avoid shock. All wirings must meet the national and local electrical codes. if you are not familiar and comfortable working with electricity, hire an electrician or contractor to do the job.
It is not advisable to bend the blades of the ceiling fan and insert foreign objects to the ceiling fan while installing. This is to prevent injuries and accidents.
